Thermage CPT is a non-invasive treatment used to tighten and shape the face and body with no downtime and no surgical risks. Thermage CPT utilizes the body’s own collagen-making process to create natural improvement that can last up to ten years. Skin looks noticeably tighter, smoother and younger, and in many cases the results are comparable to plastic surgery.
One of the great benefits of Thermage CPT is that patients can immediately return to work following the procedure. In fact, we’ve had patients who go on to parties or to the theater immediately after having Thermage CPT. Thermage can be performed anywhere on the face and body, including hands and knees, which are often the first place on the body to show age. What kind of results can I expect with Thermage CPT?
Everyone can expect an increase in collagen production and many patients see:

How long do the results last?
Patients usually begin to see an improvement a week or two after the procedure; however, the full benefits of the procedure will not be apparent for several months, although patients will see a gradual improvement week by week. The results can continue to develop for up to six months following a single treatment. Patients may not need another treatment for several years, depending on skin condition, age and area of treatment. The face ages more quickly than other parts of the body because its muscles are in constant movement.
How does Thermage CPT work?
As we age, collagen fibers break down, resulting in loose, sagging skin and wrinkles. Thermage CPT uses radiofrequency technology to safely heat the deeper layers of the skin, which stimulates existing collagen and promotes new collagen production. This lifts and tightens skin, while reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
How long before I can return to normal work activities?
Typically, there is no downtime required and most patients see some results instantly.
Where can Thermage CPT be done?
We have had great success on the face, neck and eyes. For skin tightening on the body we use Excilis.
Who is a good candidate for Thermage CPT?
Patients who would like tightening or lifting anywhere on the face or body
Patients who are not a candidate for surgery, but feel they could benefit from skin tightening
Patients who have had plastic surgery but would like to “freshen up” their results
Patients who are unable to undergo plastic surgery due to medical conditions
When can Thermage CPT be repeated?
Some people who are very concerned about their skin will repeat it in 6 months. Most people will repeat it in a year or 2.
Can I have fillers or Botox after I have Thermage CPT?
You can have Botox and fillers on the same day right after the Thermage.
Can I have a laser on the same day as the Thermage CPT?
You cannot have laser on the same day as the Thermage. You can have laser the next day after the Thermage.
Can I have Thermage CPT if I have cold sores?
You can have the treatment but you need to be premedicated with a prescription medication called Valtrex.
Can I go into the sun right after I have the Thermage CPT treatment?
You can go into the sun but we ask that you use an SPF 30 broad-spectrum sunscreen.
Can I have the Thermage CPT if I am tan?
Since this treatment bypasses the outer layers of the skin and is not a laser you can have it if you are tan.
How many Thermage CPT treatments will I need to obtain optimal results?
For most people only one treatment is necessary to obtain optimal results. During your consultation we will tell you if you will need an additional treatment.
If two treatments are needed how long do I have to wait between treatments?
Most people wait 3 to 6 months between treatments.
Is there any downtime after a Thermage CPT treatment?
No. There is no downtime and you can go about your normal activities.
Do I have to take medication before a Thermage CPT treatment?
Because Thermage is an uncomfortable treatment we do give medication by mouth one hour before the treatment. This makes the treatment more comfortable.
What is the difference between Thermage and Thermage CPT?
The CPT technology is the newest and has the most even heating of the deeper layers of the skin so it promotes good collagen production and skin tightening.
How long does the treatment take?
The treatment takes 30 minutes to 2 hours depending upon the area you are having treated.
Can I have Thermage CPT if I have Botox or Juvéderm in my face?
Yes. There the Thermage will enhance the benefits that you have achieved from your other treatments.
How long does Thermage CPT last?
Of course, we continue to age but for most people Thermage lasts a few years.
How much does Thermage CPT cost?
After an individualized consultation the cost will be determined depending on how many areas of your skin you chose to have treated.
Can I have Thermage CPT if I’ve had other laser treatments on my face?
Yes. Thermage can be combined with other laser treatments but not on the same day.
Can Thermage CPT be used on dark skin?
Yes, it is safe and effective for every skin color. Thermage radio frequency bypasses the outer layers of the skin and penetrates more deeply so it doesn’t effect the outer skin.
